Today Conner turned 8.
8!
Can you believe it?
It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with him. Time really does fly!
I am so proud of my sweet and loving boy. He has such a big, loving heart. I have so many stories I could share, but here are a few more recent ones. While we were on vacation we saw many, many homeless people sleeping downtown. He really wanted to help them and insisted on buying extra meals every time we ate so that he could pass them out to people in need. At Church the other day I saw him quietly giving the new boy his tickets that he had earned for good behavior, so that the new boy would have enough tickets to be able to pick from the treasure box. And I'll never forget the last morning that Madi had a seizure. When Conner woke up and realized what had happened, he spent the rest of the morning holding her hand while she slept in my arms. I really hope that he never loses his compassion and empathy for others.
Today was Conner's family party and my sweet boy wanted a Minecraft birthday. As it turns out, there aren't many Minecraft decorations out there so I had to be semi-creative. I bought a banner and a few signs on e-bay and then made his centerpieces myself. Saturday is his friend party and he is really looking forward to that as well. Playwell is going to come and build some fun creations with the boys. Here are a few pictures from his big day....
